• Access Portes de Vincennes 75012 - PARIS Metro: Château de Vincennes (line 1) or Porte Dorée (line 8) RER: Château de Vincennes (line A) The Bois de Vincennes is situated on the eastern edge of Paris. On the northern end of the park, you will find the Château de Vincennes where many French kings lived. It features the highest medieval tower in Europe. Today the Château devoted to the military. In front of the Château (on the "esplanade"), you will find the Park Floral. It has a butterfly garden, miniature golf, and assorted games for kids, and hosts festivals and concerts in summer. The Parc Zoologique de la Ville de Paris is another attraction but it's in a sorry state. Most importantly, the Bois de Vincennes is the largest expanse of greenery in Paris, and as such offers great space for hiking, jogging or cycling. |
